SUFL Schools Challenge 2021 – Huge Success
Schools across the UK took part in the SUFL Day challenge
StandUpForLouis Day Schools Challenge 2021
What was the challenge?
Earlier this year, with incredible support from so many, we launched SUFL Day Schools Challenge. The challenge was to help raise awareness of the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle and the positive health impact it has on both physical and mental wellbeing. To further highlight the dangers of prolonged sitting we worked with Perform Fitness to produce a set of fun exercises for pupils and teachers to complete hourly during the course of their chosen SUFL Day. The exercises were designed to be performed in or outdoors with minimum disruption. Find out more
We provided schools with all relevant resources, including; information on the campaign, selection of printable posters for SUFL Day, a video demonstration of the exercises, important links and even a selection of informative postcards for pupils to take home. All completely FREE!
Many schools had a non-uniform day for a small voluntary donation. One school raised over £500! Amazing work Harlington Upper School. All donations go to ThrombosisUK via our Just Giving page. TUK do amazing work raising awareness of thrombosis and have supported us from the start.
With the amazing support and publicity provided by; Youth Sport Trust, ThrombosisUK, Perform Fitness, Alex Sherwood, Schools Active Movement, Bowls England, BFF CT, (and so many more it has been quite overwhelming), we had schools up and down the UK taking part. Lower schools, primary schools, secondary schools, middle and upper schools, even Blackpool Football Club Sports College.
There were some fantastic photos shared on social media of children performing the exercises – it has been such an amazing success.
Can schools still take part?
Yes, you most certainly can. Initially we set the day for 9th June but extended this to any day in June. We know it isn’t always convenient for schools and so we are now letting schools access the resources on an ongoing basis. Simply sign up here and we’ll get straight back to you with your access link.
